This was my favorite type of snow, a wet one. This kind really clings to the tree branches.

Apparently this type of wet snow stops our trains running ... I kid you not the railways actually said one year snow was too wet and it was the wrong type !

Your right I remember that BB.

Wow...! Wonder what difference it would make, on second thought , might be because a wet snow can really become compacted. It almost sets up as hard a cement when pressed. They might have been worried that it would lift the train up off the track.

Any excuse here Flower - heavy snowfalls not regular so no investment in snow ploughs etc as considered a waste for many years when not needed.
Would it be too hard to fit a plough like fender to the front of a train ?
Think Gilli posted a pic of a train in Canada where the snow was higher than the train and they still got through !

That does sound like the perfect solution Bonkers, when dealing with snow, the Canadians have the answers down to a science !

I admit I really enjoyed it too Aleyna, because I rarely get to see this amount of snow . We have more ice and freezing rain storms here...:-(

awwww ... freezing rain storms are not good... make sure you keep yourself warm and cozy :o)

Thanks Aleyna and Marguerite, looks like we've escaped this winter with no severe ice storms, and I believe we are also done for anymore large amounts of snow. Besides, I've already seen a few flowers blooming in the garden and I've no more patience for cold weather now... ! Come on SPRING !
