Astrantia Maxima

This is a lovely flower.

I agree, this is the shorter stemmed astrantia so gives a more compact plant than its relatives. I was very tempted yesterday in buying another 3 from J. Parker Bulbs, but I resisted as I have already spent enough. I keep thinking about them though as there were two ruby coloured ones, which I have not yet acquired, but I did have the pink one they were offering and as they were offered as a pack, I decided against it.

I do like the sound of the ruby coloured ones - but these are very pretty and I love their structure.

I have a photo of this one in white and green. Lovely plant isn't it?
