Penstemon and geranium

Nice...I am just trying to grow some Penstemon from seed.......

I have 3 mature penstemon in the garden but because of my love of them, have recenly bought 6 plug plants from Hayloft Nurseries in Worcester. I have overwintered them, which has been a bit of a struggle as they initially looked very weak, then perked up. Then they developed a mildew problem, which I have sprayed them for and they seem to be OK now. But plug plants have always posed a problem for me as they have to have a lot of nurturing time and I hate to lose the little plants. So although much cheaper there is a lot of effort needed. Hopefully I shall get them into the garden and they will flourish, but I am not sure that it is worth the effort. Good luck with your seeds. They are fabulous plants with such a long flowering season.
