Very pretty flowers of Ranunculaceae. 2 - 2.5 cm
This is one of bulbous plants. A seed germinates and only one root grows into ground 3-5 inches depth. And then one bulb grows at the end of one root, so we cann't see any flowers for three years. Almost four years old plants produce only one flower first in mid-February to mid-March.
Average life of bulbs is about 10 years. More than six years old plants produce 3 to 5 flowers.
Japanese common name: 'Setsubunso'
