This is a Serbian Spruce...on the upward reaching branches you can see the silver blue-gray underside of the needles... I have two, I should have planted them together, instead I put one in the front and one in the back... live and learn.

The virginia creeper, can I put it close to a flower bed........this is gorgeous.....is this on a trellis or just attached to the home.........smiles

The original site of the plant is back beside the gate on the trellis...it has spread along the north side of my house and down the east side too. Just be careful to keep it from getting under the eaves or in the eavestroughs...it doesn't pit or damage the siding as some climbers can.
It has wonderful blue-purple berries and the birds just love it...it provides shelter for them and their nests. I wouldn't put it in a flower bed...but it could be a ground cover too I suppose if you just let it run along the ground.
