Those blooms have a nice smell or are they a little bad to draw in the prey?

some of them smell like carrion, Gt...don't think the smell is aromatic in any case! they feed on flies mostly and we all know what flies like! In some of them the mechanism that captures the insects are plant hairs that grow in the neck of the waterchamber, pointing downward into the water and the insect can't crawl past them...exhausts itself and dies...drops into the water/soup and is digested!...Sun dews are the exception! Sid is raising the sarracenia from seed and Flcrazy has them in her garden...they really are the most interesting plants..and it seems they are well protected from potential plant nappers by glass barriers! Kew must be so marvellous...I want to experience it someday...and the Chelsea flower show...and..and...and.. lol.! Lucky you, Arlene!

That is a lovely photo. I used to grow them until I found they consumed a large quantity of ladybirds as well as flies.
