Magnolia x Lilac.

I bought this plant years ago, from a Garden Centre that was closing down. I grew it initially as a Bonsai, because it had small leaves, but eventually it got planted into the garden. The flowers are very tiny, pretty and well perfumed, it smells of lilac.
All I can remember of its name was one of its parent plants was Leonard Messell.
I keep this plant shaped "drum style" growing round the conifer tree next to it. The contrast between the bright green foliage against the dark green is effective.
