mixed tulips, some genuine, some imposters

The orange tulips on the right of the picture have a delicious scent, much lighter, and hauntingly elegant compared to the rather overpowering scent of the narcissi. The bright red tulips are the ones that arrived in bags marked 'ballerina' but obviously aren't and the stripey ones are Rembrandt tulips that failed to flower last spring but are making up for it this year.
I wonder how many people ordered ballerina tulips from that same company, and are now sniffing them and deciding that the whole idea of scented tulips was the invention of someone wanting to sell a few more bulbs?
