i only got it today so dont know how it would have been grown. i have it in a shady spot in my garden. i am going by the details on the label that say its a dr ruppel although the label does look like the flower is more pink in the centre of each petal

You may find it's a little lighter once it starts flowering in your garden.

That flower is quite a bit deeper in colour than my Dr Ruppel but mine is in a very hot sunny position. Is this one in a slightly shadier spot?? Perhaps the sun is bleaching the colour out of mine.
