Amazing, obviously grown on a Malus Crab apple Root stock. Our neibour had a Kanzan Cherry the other side of our fence and that had a white wild cherry blossom growing from the root stock, I suggested they removed it for the sake of the cherry, but they were only passing through!!!! not interested. Now we have neighbours who are interested, who are left with a straggly wild cherry and the Kanzan has eventually died out. Your lucky you had a root stock worth keeping, even if you do happen to lose your apple in time. I don't know if this is always the case!
