As side shoots get big enough to hold nip out and use for cuttings leaving a pair growing up the stem.

Got too much construction work this year, and my mother is staying here now . She's been quite unwell so I want to get her right first. So I can't concentrate on things like I want. Maybe I'll try though. Although mine are very slow this year.

I have justt been in greenhouse on put a stake in 2 more promising standards.
One of which is growing straint but only has 2 not 3 leaves.

The two leaf ones will make agood standard but 3 is better. I've made some nice ones with 2 leaves in the past. You need a strong growing shoot but it can be done.
