Could be a peone?

This very sweet little flower was something that came with the floods as alot of my plants do. I have a few clumps of it around the lockside. It looks very much like a Peone(hope I have spelt that correctly). It has 4 single petles that are waffer thin and the lovely bright yellow centre. The leaves are long and slim ,pointed at the end. The flower is only short lived.

I'm pretty sure you're right, it is a peony(I'm not sure of the spelling either).
What a great plant to just appear like that! The trouble, I suppose, is that you lose them in the same way! A very transient garden then!
