I thought this was one of the nicest gardens and deserved a gold medal, but only got silver.

Andrew, I understand that, apparently the judges weren't happy with the hard landscaping for some reason (I spoke to a relative of the designer). Shame, it was a very interesting design with fun planting!
Sid, I agree, very unusual too - and you wouldn't have to worry about being bitten by mosquitoes! lol

Hard landscaping looked fine to me....but I suppose we couldnt get a real close look at it......... Should have called it the 'Anti-Mozzie Garden' lol

There are several criteria for judging of RHS Show Gardens - quality of materials, quality of plants, are they in flower, no soil showing. Also, the designer has to write a brief for the garden so if it is superb but doesn't fulfil the brief, it will get marked down.
