What is a wild flower? just a flower growing in the wrong place!! but this uninvited visitor is accepted as one of my garden flowers because it looks so delicate with the red roses.

They are lovely flowers, aren't they. I wonder why they are thought of as weeds??

they seed so prolifically. after the war they were a common coloniser of bombed/burnt sites. they are aslo called fireweed in the N/E. common along railway embankments. the fluffy seeds are easily dispersed by wind and the draughts caused from passing trains.
