I spoke to my sister about this, she is a very keen gardener and she thinks the man who does my garden was a bit too enthusiastic when he was pruning the branches! I am quite upset about it as the branches used to cascade down onto the grass and the tree was quite beautiful.

I have a tree similar to this and I notice I have the long bare branches as well Is there a reason for this.
