I was inspired by Jacque's photo of a chive flower. Ours are not quite as far along yet.

When it does, be sure to crop and chop any excess, and freeze in small freezer bags. It was a great boon all last winter - you can just reach in and grab a handful to add to a salad or a soup.

I did collect for winter. I'm just surprized it isn't showing a sign its growing, the tarragon has already sprouted.

Hope it will come up. Still, they do get tired after a while. Perhaps it's time for a new pot from the nursery? I'd send you some of mine, but the customs agents at the border probably wouldn't like soil from the east coast being moved to Alaska!

Thanks Elke, but I agree. I'll go out and look closer at the variety source, I think I need a little extra hardy in this garden spot.
