Perhaps it's a sand cherry - sorry, can't remember what we bought 2 years ago, but they are pretty.

Its really beautiful. I think I saw someone sand cherry had these same red leaves and nice little white blossom. Not as close up though, can;t be sure. I agree its a wonder, nameless or not. :-)
