I put in two of these last year, but the one at the front of the house was ripped out last week by a local "landscaper' (long sad story).

Well put Vincent - my landlords hired them to tidy their gardens & my area was mistaken for one of theirs. Their gardens looked quite barren as well...

Aw, I was hoping it would turn into a local dog that digs in the beds. Sad that it was a landscaping crew! This is such a beautiful clematis, maybe take some seed?

It won't come true from seed, Green, you will have to bite the bullet and buy it, if you can find it. I am looking for it, as well.

I think you mean 'landScraper', Gram, No landscaper worth his/her salt would do that. There are a lot of landscrapers about, though. This a lovely cultivar with the blend of petal and centre. I love it.
