Check for snails low down in the leaves.

I know it's a snail fest everyday. They seem to take up camp there. I did pick a lot off and I was really tempted to use some pellets but I don't want to harm the frogs and other wild life so I guess i'll have to put up with a bit of munching. Next year when i've cut them back i'm going to try some sharp gravel around the base, see how that works, you never know.
