A very pretty pink flower. foliage is silvery in the spring and deeply cut too. very different to the normal Centaurea montana.

that looks amazing,i seem to have a thing for flowers like this,i really like alliums but seings what ive read about growing from seed i might just get bulbs, how is this one grown?

its a herbaceous plant so it dies away over winter and reshoots come the spring. i divide it when it gets too big and pot the bits up. sometimes get seedlings too. next spring i'll see what i can pass on to you.Allium bulbs bought loose are the best bet. i start them off in 3" pots in a gritty soil and plant out in may.

you can get them in packs from places like wilkos or gc and we have a roadside plant man who has a big box of them and he sells them at 20p each. he is brilliant as he does all different bulbs and plants and he is very reasonable. you can also buy them in packs from places like parkers, thompson & morgan, van meuwen , and bloms bulbs to name a few.
thats what i meant by loose as opposed to potted up in a pot.
