Feeder birds???

Being near the Great Lakes, we do get the water birds around occasionally. I was pleasantly surprized to find a pair of mallards in the yard yesterday - I have no water feature to attract them. They were just looking for food, so I tossed out some stale bread which they enjoyed. Unfortunately they seem to have invited some of their noisier friends as well!!
