I have two San, yes this is a bush type which is indeed S. intergra 'hakuro nishiki' i have another that is very simular but has little pinky catkins just as the leaves start coming out, that is a standard, but it is grafted, it did'nt have a proper label when i bought it, just a common name which was 'flamingo tree' i don't think it is exactly the same as my hakuro nishiki as the hakuro nishiki has never had catkins...what about yours does you have catkins? because i have wondered about this several times because in every other way they look exactly the same.
