Can you tell me, will those 2 tall stems be flowers? I am away for 16 days on the 20th and you can bet if they are flowers it will happen whilst I am away. I like Alpines as they do not need to much work.

Yes they are flowering spikes. They usually last a long time but after they fade the rosette that produced them will die. Never mind, there are plenty of offshoots. It's called Sempervivum.
