Somehow in the wild they are just so much prettier. In South Africa it was cosmos by the roadside, in Maine it's rosa rugosa, and here it's lupins. Actually Jacque, people curse them here in their gardens - they just self seed and take over, and the roots are so tough, it's hard to get them out, especially when they get into a rock garden or wall. But I could happily have the whole field covered in them.

Fantastic. Many years ago, when I used to commute to London for my work I used to see a huge area of wild Lupins in various colours. They were fantastic and cheerd me up on the long, boring journey to work!
