thanks - no they are in the ground Spritz, and they have really spread as well as giving me lots of little bulblets last year, so defo one for direct in the bed. they are very strong, don't need staking some of the stems are like tree trunks. :-)

Nice colour very eye catching love the way it is camoflage too for the bird table too do you get a lot of birds

thanks for the kind comment, yes i do get a lot in the winter...but i must confess, i don't put anything on that table this time of year as the birds land on the lilies and squash them... i get big wood pigeons trying to fight there way into that little house.... bit naughty of me i know.... but i wait until after the lillies and Glads, finish in this bed before i restock with grub for them... still the woman next door has loads out for them this time of year anyway...and she does'nt tend to bother during the winter...which is when i always make sure they have plenty...so i guess we share the responsiblity of feeding the local wild birds.

Yes it is winter time they need it the most and water especially more so than food.
