mmm i have planted all the lime ones in the beds now..ofcourse they are a little behind the shop bought ones as i did sow them late, but they now have buds on them..so hopefully won't have long to wait.

Normally the shop ones are ahead as they are forced in greenhouses this is why when people buy plants in the spring a lot die as they have not been weathered

mmmm... yes the only thing i really put in during early spring is stuff like Viola, they are usually ok...the ocational primula too sometimes...if i have any roses or other shrubs (quite often do) the earlier the better with them while dormant...but i am guessing you mean summer bedding stuff?... i have before now done hanging baskets at the begining of April..in fact last year when we had all that late snow...do you remeber?...well i got away with it by making fleece tents for them... worked very well infact...only thing was come mid August they were all but finished as i gues they just run out of steam. so i did them the normal time this year.

No plant lasts for ever they end up dieing even if its 14 yrs eventually they die. except trees thats the only thing I have never heard of dieing and live to a great age think of any programs where they say this rose etc is 14 or 20 yrs old you dont hear of it like you do trees.

mmm know what you mean... there are plants that go on and on,,, but usually it is by propergating themselves rather than just lasting... i think some variety of fern can last many years perennial but re-growing from the same root...

I never knew this until I watched a gardening program a fair few years ago and a bloke was saying how he had lost a plant he had for several years and the other gardener thats what he said.

yeah where poss i like to take seeds every year just incase, and what i don't need myself, i sell or swap.. it's a great way of increasing your plant collections....
