The only place we really grow flowers apside from the barrels! I would love to create a cottage garden but my flower knowledge is limited!!

Well, you have found the right spot to expand your knowledge...lots of people here who will be happy to help point you in the right direction. within no time you'll be trading latin names with ease... you need to look into perennials.. and with those lovely chickens you will have excellent compost for your beds. Let any manure you take from your piggy-pen cook for a long while... do you have composters? another project for two DIYers. How exciting it must be to be just starting out! we've got three composters but im a bit scared of them theres a big hole in the compost which ive been told is a rat hole!! Im terrified of rats so that is Toms domain!! We're gonna empty them and put chicken wire on the bottom so the rat cannot get in!! Ive never seen a rat at the farm all the resident cats meet in the barn so im pretty sure they're doing a good job!
