Acer palmatum

Acer palmatum (Acer Palmatum dissectum)

Last winter I pruned off a lot of this Acer...all the lower branches came off, so as to raise the crown and allow light to get underneath to the smaller plants. It has responded very well indeed!

Wow. Gorgeous colour Karen, Sometimes I think its good to cut them back. They usually do respond well.

Thanks Cinders. I've never done it before...not to that extent anyway!

That looks great Karen, I know of people who regularly prune their acers, I'm not quite that brave:-)

Lovely colour, we are great ones for lifting canopies, (just think of all the new plants you can get underneath)
