My favourite September/October perrenial

My favourite September/October perrenial (Aster x frikartii)

Aster or Michaelmas Daisy. Well named as they suddenly burst into colour in late September and last well into October.
They come in a mix of colours and sizes and brighten up the early days of Autumn, looking wonderful against the russet hues of other autumn plants.

They are good if you avoid the ones that get mildew, one of the best I think is Aster 'Monch'.

This one is not Monch though. It is probably Wunder Von Stafa. The true Monch is darker blue than this.
