I have not had as much experience with the Rex as with the double tuberous Begonias.
I know that if they are over watered they will rot.
The Rex like humidity, in the greenhouse during the hot weather i have a towel on the floor and throw water over the towel to keep the humidity.
I have read that one way of keeping some humidity in the house would be to place the pot in a saucer filled with small stones, water the stones which will keep humidity whilst not leaving the pot sitting in water which would rot the plant.
I hope this might be of some help - good luck
