Ancho Mulato
Capsicum: Annuum Origin: Mexico PI: 640829 Scoville units: 100-200
Blossom end shape: blunt or pointed Fruit position and shape: pendant, oblate Fruit size and color: 5" green > brown Calyx shape: saucer shaped, toothless
Flower: erect, stellate Petals/Spots: white/none Filament color: white Anther color: blue
Habit: sturdy, tree-like bush Stem: smooth Leaves: medium, glabrous Taste:
Maturity: 80 days Plant height: 18-24" Germ. Time: 1 wk > 2 mo. Uses:
This pepper has a slightly smokier flavor than normal Ancho. Pods grow to around 5 inches long and 2 inches wide and mature from dark green to brown.
History: This cultivar was donated through Taiwan's Asian Vegetable Research and Development Center 1999 and was assigned a PI # in 2005.
