Golden Bluebeard bush

This shrub was a really slow grower this year, but now that it has grown a bit and flowered, it was worth the wait.

How is this plant doing now?
Mine was one of the first in the garden to grow leaves, then I trimmed back all the branches pretty severly as per the instructions I read. It's growing nicely now, but I wonder how full it would have been if I left most of the branches intact..

It is in leaf again now - I did not trim it back at all as it was so small to begin with. I'll try to get another photo for you this weekend...
