I call this part of the garden corydalis corner. It is planted with various cultivars and seedlings of corydalis solida
The named forms are:
Beth Evans - pink
George Baker - red
Purple Bird - purple
White Swallow - white
Later in the year, it gets covered with leaves coming off an evergreen magnolia which are large and tough, so it is not worth trying to grow anything else

Great collection love the Purple Bird.

Sue - underneath a camellia can be very dry. These will need access to moisture. Mine are growing under a tree peony which drops its leaves for winter

Mm, need to rethink that idea then Andrew, anyway that space is filled with Eranthis and Maianthemum.

I am green with envy. Maybe I'll try again. I've got a Camellia which is shady underneath in summer.
