Dionaea muscipula 'Venus fly trap'

Dionaea muscipula 'Venus fly trap' (Dionaea muscipula (Venus flytrap))

This has been growing for a while. It is now about 7 and a half inches long and looks like it is going to flower soon. I've never seen one flower I hope it dose not disappoint.

nice flytrap. im pretty new to carnivorous plants, but i read on other websites that you should'nt let them flower as this uses a lot of the plants energy. however, did you let it flower & if so did you take any photo's? :-)

If you have a look at my blogs and go back a bit, there is one about venus fly trap flowering with pics.
I also heard the same about sapping the energy, and yes it has taken a dive but once it flowered I cut the stem off, it has had a bit of a rest and now it is starting to grow again.

I shalln't let it flower again,.
