Yes this duranta has horrible sharp little thorns and is a nightmare to trim - that's why the three we have in our driveway have grown so huge (they're over 6m tall) - there's no way we are going to attempt to give them a haircut!

Used to grow this one, I love the picotee blooms, but the whiteflies just loved it when I'd bring it in during the wintertime, couldn't control them, so had to give it away ...:-(
