Hi Khla in the ground all year, i transplanted at around 5 foot tall (bought as a 5 inch plant a few years before) from the side of my house, its now about 11foot tall and producing more and better quality fruit. The leaves drop the beginning of winter and return in the spring.Sometimes if we get a late frost it kills off the leaves but it always seem to recover with vigour.
