Ipheion - March 2009 (Ipheion uniflorum)

Upward-facing star-shaped flowers of palest blue held on bare stems 15 cm appear over many weeks from early spring onwards above soft clumps of pale-green grassy leaves. Increases freely in well-drained soil

Iphion - not sure if right spelling but someone will know the right one if I am wrong. It is lovely , isn;t it? I put some in my garden woodland bit 30 years ago and they flower every year.
