I'm a rubbish photographer so this out of focus picture doesn't doe them justice - but they are stunning and the first things to bloom beautifully in our garden this winter - Feb 08.

Have to admit I've just cheated and bought four ready planted pot of Iris reticulata (only a £1 and about six or seven shoots in each) - I love the deep purple colour, so going to interplant them with some primrose.

I have tried to do this ( I have to start indoors, as I have snow until end of March, to mid April... only 4C here today) Did you leave this pot out for the entire winter? How cold do you get? I am zone 3.

I see some over-wintering cineraria in the background..I think. I really like that stuff...it even survives snow and -20 C. I would love to be able to garden in Feb. lucky you.
