This shows the vine and the small dark green leaves a little more clearly.

I've had a look and it looks very much like the flower on my vine - the leaves even look similar. May be on the right track!

I have just googled 'native gardenia' and while the flowers sure match, it says the native gardenia is a tree. Mine is a vine that grows over a pergola. So I'm still not sure. Mine definitely has a fragrance. I have not noticed any fruit, which the great google source says the native gardenia has.

I've had a look on the net for pictures of the native jasmine but the leaves don't seem to match, so I'm not sure.
