Mertensia virginica - 2015

Very hardy American perennial, needing moist soil in a shady position. Grows up to two feet tall, slugs permitting. Dies back by the summer, so can occupy the same ground as hostas for example.

I found a website that suggested growing it with trilliums and uvularia, so a soil with plenty of humus is probably what is needed.
