Woodlander making a mat around a couple of feet across. This has been growing under an apple tree for well over ten years, so will take fairly dry conditions once established

Extremely slow. Mine is about two and a half feet across now, although it is in quite a dry spot.
Beth Chatto reckons it gets two feet across, but Claire Austin says three feet

Thanks, mine was from Beth Chatto’s, for some reason I thought it would spread,

A friend tells me it seeds around so I will look out for seedlings, looks like this is how it spreads rather than the individual plant.

Do you find it slow to spread Andrew? I was expecting mine to romp away but it’s still quite compact.
