Phygelius x rectus 'African Queen' (Phygelius x rectus (Cape fuchsia))

Sadly I caught the last couple of blooms before they went over. But, hopefully some more should be along shortly :)

Hi Lori. Sorry for the late reply. Thank you for the compliment.

In answer, I bought 3 that had been kept in a bad spot at the garden centre for 75p each ... the flower stems reached about 18 inches. The plants are now cut back to about 3 inches and planted in :) Hopefully the shall settle in ok.

If they are happy they should reach about a metre and the same again(ish) in spread - they are south facing but not against a wall, so we shall see what next year brings.

Thanks Mrv... will be interested to see how they fare next season... Isn't it great to find a bargain like that?

I love a bargain, me :) £4.50 for 3 of these, 3 Phygelius Yellow Trumpet and 3 Campanula Blue Chips.

I shall certainly be taking more pictures next year (assuming they survive).

What else?

See who else is growing Phygelius x rectus (Cape fuchsia).

See who else has plants in genus Phygelius.

This photo is of "Cape Fuchsia "African Queen"" in Mrv's garden
