It's big & messy now so I think I'll need to divide it next year.....

Bjs told me you had posted a photo of Mauve Mist. It is a lovely shade of Mauve. I have one, lost the label but I wanted to put it in the Edinburgh show today. It is helpful to know the name. It did not get placed but I did find people admired the colour. Like yours it is very leggy. I will try and propagate it from cuttings.

Well, I'm glad to know that I've been useful for someone! :-) Anyway, I'll try cutting method after flowering this year.

I have been reading through you blogs from the first one. You are very good at telling it how it is without lots of technical jargon. I always wilt when speakers use 'Alpine Speak' which is as much a foreign language to me as 'Computer Speak 'once was. I was hoping you would have updated your blog on sowing hellebore seeds. I found that very helpful and enjoy seeing the growing on process. In one of your blogs you say your plants are not good enough to show. I plucked up courage to show at SRGC Kincardine two weeks ago and was surprised to find I was sharing my love of plants with other enthusiasts who willingly gave advice on how they do it. I also entered the SRGC Edinburgh Show yesterday and found a new level of belonging to a group of like minded plant mad buddies. I would encourage you to have a go. I cannot enter too many classes because I need to ensure I can get them to and from the show in good condition.

@Scotsgran
Thank you for reading my blogs.....I don't have much knowledge nor skills either but the main thing is that I enjoy myself, y'know? That's important.
And I'm glad to hear that you had a good time @ SRGC shows. It is difficult for me to travel to Scotland from London so I normally go to AGS's Kent show or Harlow show, and RHS Wisley Gardens, to see & learn alpine plants.

I don't get to the shows you go to for the same reason. It is too far for me to travel. I do go down to the south west of England because my daughter lives there. It is good to see blogs by members on the shows near them and I know many members enjoy them too.

Most Marginatas flop partly the weight of the flowers It looks good to me.
you will probably do better with cuttings the root stock does not usually lend itself to division if however you are able to divide you normally end up with a long stemmed plant rather than a compact one
