Primula viallii - 2014

Moisture loving primula, growing to about six inches. It has a reputation of being tricky, but I think the trick is to keep it dry during the winter. I grow it in a planting basket in the side of my pond, and keep the basket in a cold greenhouse during the winter. My plants have been grown like this for several years now.

What a good idea putting them in the shallows in the pond. My moisture loving Primula s come thro' the winters ok, but succumb to summer dryness. I do however bend the seeded stems of my candellabras into pots in the mini pond. Project - reorganise my pond plantings. Thanks.
