Immediately on opening, the air around the valerian filled with the presence of little hover flies. That wonderful sweet fragrance spread throughout the garden for two long months, this year not going sour like last year. I was very glad. :-) This is probably start of july.

Its very strong. Usually when it is still small like this, its really wonderful, this year it was wonderful all year. Last year it turned sour and was a bad smell until I just cut it. It was very dry this year, that was the only difference.
