Not the ones I have in France, they are human, but my frogs in my garden. LAST WEEK I PUT SOME SNAIL AND SLUG PELLETS DOWN, AND AS THERE IS A BIG QUESTION MARK ABOUT THEM AND DEATH TO FROGS;I HAVE SOME PROOF NOW. I CAN NOT NAME THE PRODUCT, AS YOU ALL KNOW BUT I SAID TO MY HUSBAND, " IF I FIND MY LOCAL TWO FROGS DEAD IN A COUPLE OF DAYS , I WILL KNOW WHY? AND I DID. I WAS SO UPSET. THEY WERE IN THE AREA I HAD PUT THE PELLETS DOWN. I FELT SOOOOOOO GUILTY. I feel the best control is to throw out vegetable peelings and they , snail and slugs go for it and leave your plants alone. Or throw next door,(that’s a joke). Even though it is overgrown and we have done that: they come back! Purdi.

Greetings, Purdi. My father used to trap slugs with beer. He used to say they died happy. I am not sure where pellets are with cats either. Fortunately lots of cat lovers around here.

If you really need to use pellets you can hide them under something that frogs can't access. You'd be amazed at where slugs can squash themsleves into.

But why would you need to use pellets? I read somewhere that if you don't use any pellets, sprays, etc. for 7 years then your garden survives most things. I've found that to be true, having moved here 10 years ago and used nothing stronger than diluted garlic as a deterent on pretty much everything. I have masses of frogs and hardly any snails and even fewer slugs. My hostas get sprayed with the garlic mix and I throw the dregs from the coffee pot everywhere. Crushed eggshells seem to fend off some bugs and a soapy water spray also works in some areas. My garden is full of bees, butterflies, birds, mice, and of course frogs and toads. Nature usually takes care of things.

welcome to GoY Purdi.
That is such a shame. Hopefully others will move in to replace them soon.
