Kiwi Fruit

My brother says that there has to be a male and a female kiwi plant for fruits - par for the course! So how do I know if mine, growing well again, is male or female?

generally speaking your brother is right, but a couple of new varieties are self-pollinating, however the fruits on the self pollinating ones tend to be small

I'm not sure how you tell, except that a female would produce flowers, (but not fruit without fertilisation) and a male plant won't. If you've still got the label with the full name, that might be a guide if you look it up online.

you could always try hand pollination, i've heard it works too.

How do I say thanks?
