pruning a vibernum

Pembrokeshire, United Kingdom

I have a lovely established viburnum but it is getting rather tall, can i prune it to get more flowers. I think it is a viburnum, pink very fragrant flowers, darkish leaves and stems are reddish.

I think a photo is going to be needed to confirm :-)

This sounds as though it may be Viburnum Bodnantense 'Dawn'.
Viburnums require little pruning except to keep their shape, and only grow to about 10 ft tall. Pruning should be done as soon as flowering has finished.
