my berberis has been glorious for years and stands on its own shaped into a round shape and is much admired for the beautiful redness of the leaves. Unfortunately it appears to have died and the leaves are all but gone and the wood has white fungi. Is it dying or can I revive it?

« does anyone know how you look after sedums in the winter????thanks
My Berberis did that last year as well,( its in my blogs Aug`11) I cut out all the dead branches some right down to just above the ground and the rest I cut down by two/thirds, I figured it was worth taking a chance and I couldn`t make it look any worse, I donned a pair of very strong gloves and rubbed the remaining branches to get rid of as much of the fungus as I could, pleased I did it has sprouted lots of new growth this year so I `m hopeful of its survival....
