mature Mimosa down st. in full bloom. I planted mine last yr & so far no blooms. was single trunk when bought but the top died due to hole in bark. No worries, the bottom growth took off & so I now have the multi trnk I wanted but no blooms. Does it take a few yrs? Mdw3224@gmail.com

The simple answer is yes. The new growth is just far too young to have flowers. Your tree will be making growth quite quickly at the expense of any flowers but they will come, just give it a season or two more.
